ATLANTA- Back-to-back two-run innings late in the game lifted the Trojans (19-14, 5-5 SBC) over the Panthers (16-15, 2-7 SBC) 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Robert E. Heck Softball Complex.
Georgia State senior Ivie Drake plated the first run of the game with an early solo home run in the first inning, but the sixth-ranked Trojan defense kept the Panthers at bay for the remainder of the game.
Troy struggled to get the bats going through the first four innings, only having three base runners, all walked batters.
ended the drought for the Trojans with a single into left field with one out in the top of the fifth, and followed with a hard hit double into centerfield to put two runners in scoring position.
