CONWAY, S.C. – A six-run third inning jumpstarted Troy to a 10-8 victory over No. 16 Coastal Carolina in the getaway game at Springs Brooks Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The Trojans (11-13, 1-5) finally got that elusive first conference win thanks in part to a two-run homer from Drew Frederic and a grand slam from freshman Logan Cerny, both in the big third inning.
Down three runs after a rocky first couple of innings, Frederic launched a 408-foot homer over left field to wake the Troy bats up – the junior was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
