Jay Eller of Abbeville has seen every Troy football game – home and road – since the Trojans moved to Division I-A (now the FBS) in 2001.
That’s a streak of 220 games. No. 221 will come in Mobile on Dec. 22 at the Dollar General Bowl when the Trojans play Buffalo.
When asked why, Eller shrugged and said, “If you’re going to be a fan, be a fan.”
Eller is an Old Dominion graduate, but his wife, Nicey, and their children are Troy graduates. Eller made the drive from Abbeville to Dothan for Troy’s bowl social Tuesday night at Buffalo Wild Wings.
