The Sun Belt Conference announced that Troy's season opener scheduled for Sept. 5 against visiting Louisiana Monroe has been postponed to Dec.5.
ULM last week suspended all football-related activity following a COVID-19 outbreak within the program. Nine COVID-19 cases were confirmed with further test results pending.
"While this is certainly disappointing news for our team and fans, we are committed to the health and safety of all student-athletes and have worked with ULM to reschedule this game," Troy athletic director Brent Jones said in a school relase.
The game will now take place Dec. 5, the final game of the regular season, at 2:30 p.
