Gill dominated opposing hitters last week as he struck out 12 batters in just six innings of work without allowing a run.
The Cottonwood High product picked up a hold in Troy’s victory at No. 5 Auburn last Tuesday and then turned around to record his fifth save of the year in the Trojans’ victory at reigning national champion Coastal Carolina on Friday.
Gill has struck out four consecutive batters in three consecutive outings and has struck out 23 batters over his last six appearances and 11.1 innings of work.
Against Auburn, Gill surrendered a leadoff single and then retired eight straight batters – six via the strikeout – before turning the ball over to Marc Skinner to close out the Tigers.
