JONESBORO, Arkansas – A new school record for single-season triples was set and Troy scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth to down Arkansas State, 4-3, in the first game of the Sun Belt Conference series at Tomlinson Stadium.
The Trojans' (26-12, 9-7) momentous triple came off the bat of in the sixth inning and an errant throw into the dugout sent him home to tie the game at three.
Then in the top of the ninth, was plunked by a high-velocity fastball with the bases loaded to bring home for the eventual game-winning run with two outs in the frame.
