TROY – Following one test of emotional fortitude against then-No. 25 LSU, the Troy Trojans perhaps have a bigger test of nerves coming Wednesday – a battle against bitter rival South Alabama.
While the series is just five games long, the two schools’ intense rivalry in other sports like baseball has bled onto the gridiron. Adding fuel to the fire are the results: three of the five games have been decided by a touchdown or less.
Throw in proximity, a championship belt trophy and battles on the recruiting front, and the cauldron is full of necessary ingredients for a passionate battle.
