Troy notebook: Defense keeps Trojans in it in first half

JONESBORO, Ark. – Troy was outplayed in the first half, but stayed in the game with its defense and special teams.

Obviously, Marcus Jones’ 99-yard kickoff return was the highlight of the Trojans’ first half. Troy managed just three first downs, 35 yards rushing on 16 carries and 52 passing yards for a total of 87 yards on 28 plays.
