TROY, Ala. – Kennedi Gaton's two-run home run in the fourth inning and seven strong innings from Leanna Johnson paced Troy in a 2-2 tie with No. 25 Texas State in the Sun Belt series finale Sunday at the Troy Softball Complex. The Trojans won the series after sweeping Saturday's doubleheader.
The game ended in a tie due to Texas State's travel plans, as no inning could start after 2:15 p.m. Troy is now 11-1-1 in their last 13 games after winning the weekend series.
Gaton's fourth home run of the season put Troy (21-7-1, 2-0-1 SBC) in front, 2-1, in the fourth inning, but a bloop double from Karmyn Bass after a walk tied the game in the fifth.
