Several Troy coaches had plenty of positives to say Wednesday about the signing of Enterprise cornerback Marcus Jones. Cornerbacks coach and recruiting coordinator Al Pogue, though, reacted in a more demonstrable way when the prospect committed Monday. “I don’t mind dancing (after a commitment) with some of these guys we’ve got,” he said.
Jones will solidify a cornerback group that will lose Wiregrass products Jalen Harris (Northview) and Kamryn Melton (Dothan) after the 2017 season. Coaches said Jones registered high on the Trojans’ radar because of his playmaking skills.
