BOISE, Idaho – Boise State took advantage of costly Troy miscues to defeat the Trojans 24-13 in the season opener for both teams Saturday afternoon at Albertsons Stadium.

Troy committed three turnovers, eight penalties and allowed the Broncos to average 41.8 yards on kickoff returns and 24.8 yards on punt returns in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

The Trojans, however, trailed by just four at 17-13 with 10:59 left to play following a 39-yard field goal by former Houston Academy standout Bratcher Underwood.

After stopping the Broncos on 4th-and-1 at the Troy 20 on a tackle by Terrance Corbett, the Trojans had a chance to grab the lead.
