TROY, Ala. – With a 5-4 lead and two outs in the top of the ninth, the Trojans were one out away from securing a series sweep of Texas State, but it was not to be as the Bobcats went on to score five runs to take the lead salvage a 9-5 win Sunday afternoon from Riddle-Pace Field.
With one swing of the bat, Caleb Bartolero put the Trojans ahead in the bottom of the eighth, hitting his 10th home run of the season. The two-run shot gave Troy that 5-4 advantage in the ninth, but the offense was unable to overcome the four-run deficit in the bottom half of the ninth.
