Troy defensive tackle Marcus Webb draws comparisons these days to “Tarzan” or “Thanos,” the Marvel Comics character known for superhuman strength and speed, for good reason.
Webb, a junior out of Decatur’s Austin High School, mounted a strong showing in the weight room this offseason – adding 27 pounds to his frame. Webb first arrived at Troy as a 245-pound defensive end but will now be counted on to anchor the line from the middle with his 279-pound frame.
“He’s done a really good job in the weight room, and he’s really a different player than last year,” said Vic Koenning, the Trojans’ defensive coordinator.
