Troy coach Chip Lindsey tests positive for COVID-19, won't coach against Middle Tennessee

Troy coach Chip Lindsey has tested positive for COVID-19, he announced Friday morning.

The second-year head coach won't be with the Trojans for their game Saturday against Middle Tennesee on Nov. 21 at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Special teams coordinator Brian Blackmon will fill in for Lindsey.

"While this is a situation that we had hoped we wouldn't have to account for this season, it is something that we've had a comprehensive plan in place for since the start of preseason camp," Lindsey said via press release.

Last week, Troy's game against Coastal Carolina was canceled due to positive tests within the program.
