Even though the Trojans fell to Sun Belt Conference leader Louisiana-Lafayette 81-69 on Jan. 27, Cunningham loved the energy provided when he moved B.J. Miller to point guard and inserted freshman Javan Johnson in the lineup. The individual results validate the coach’s thoughts as Miller poured in 17 points and Johnson chipped in 11 – both well above their season averages.
Cunningham said he is committed to the lineup change as the defending Sun Belt Tournament champion Trojans (9-13 overall, 3-6 Sun Belt) tip off the second half of conference play Saturday at home against South Alabama.
