LAFAYETTE, La. -- Troy’s baseball team will play for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament title.
The Trojans advanced to the championship Saturday afternoon, earning a 10-0 win over Texas State at Russo Park in Lafayette, La., behind the standout pitching of Daren Osby and some powerful hitting, including a record-setting moment from Joey Denison.
Troy (41-18) faces Coastal Carolina (41-17) today at 1 p.m. in the finals. The Chanticleers, the regular-season champions, defeated the University of South Alabama 3-1 in Saturday’s other semifinal.
The Trojans will be making their first appearance in the championship game since 2010 and will be looking for their first tournament title since 2006.
