Trojans walk off with wild win over Alabama

“This win is more about we kept playing and kept believing we could win this ballgame,” Trojans head coach Mark Smartt said. “I thought after that inning our team took a punch in the gut and regrouped and finished like a championship-type club should.”

Troy (15-12) fell behind 2-0 when Hunter Alexander smoked his first homer of the game, a two-run shot in the first inning.

The Trojans countered with three runs in the third.A throwing error from Alabama pitcher Deacon Medders allowed Frederic and Steven Whitaker to score. The error also allowed Sanders to reach base, and he scored when Trevor Davis hit a sacrifice fly.
