TROY – Strong defensive line play has powered Troy’s recent success, and the Trojans took some steps Wednesday to ensure that continues in the future.
Troy inked five defensive linemen – including Northview’s AJ Pierce and Slocomb’s Jarvis Hayes – in the early signing period Wednesday. Almost equal were the Trojans’ efforts to shore up the offensive line as Troy signed four prospects for that unit.
Troy head coach Neal Brown said he and his staff focused on rebuilding the offensive and defensive line during the early period – the first time high school football prospects were able to solidify their college choices before February.
