TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's track and field programs opened the 2020 season with a successful outing at the UAB Vulcan Invitational Saturday in Birmingham. The Trojans crowned two individual champions at the Birmingham CorssPlex in Michael Alvernaz and Macki Walsh.
Alvernaz took home the top mark in the men's weight throw with a toss of 20.49m. On the women's side, Walsh took the 3000m crown with a time of 10:05.10.
Troy's most successful event of the day came in the women's 800m where four Trojans placed inside the top 10.
