Tennessee Lady Vols basketball gets commitment from Troy transfer Alexus Dye, the Sun Belt player of year

Troy graduate transfer Alexus Dye announced her commitment to the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team via Instagram on Wednesday.

Dye was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, the first women's basketball player in Troy's history to earn the honor.

"How I look in orange," Dye wrote in her commitment announcement. She will have one year of eligibility.

Dye, a 6-foot forward, could go a long way to replacing the production that Tennessee lost with Rennia Davis, the No. 9 pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft.

She led the NCAA in double-doubles (23) and total rebounds (352), leading Troy to the Sun Belt Conference championship.
