TROY, Ala. – Troy sophomore Taylor McKinney has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after leading the Trojans to a sweep at Southern Miss over the weekend, the league office announced Tuesday.
McKinney hit .500 (5-for-10) with a grand slam and five RBIs in Troy's three victories. The sophomore from Montgomery belted three extra-base hits – two doubles and a home run – as she slugged 1.000 on the weekend, in addition to showing off her speed with four stolen bases on four attempts.
