Strong Finish Lifts Troy Over South Alabama

MOBILE, Alabama – After shooting just 23.9 percent in the first half, the Troy women's basketball team exploded over the final seven minutes to take a 73-57 win over South Alabama in Mitchel Center on Saturday.

Troy's shooting woes began after jumping out to an early 7-2 lead. The Trojans converted just 11 of 46 shots in the first half, were 0-for-10 from 3-point range and scored just nine points in the second quarter. The frustrations continued until freshman guard hit a 3-pointer with 4:59 remaining in the third period. One minute later, made consecutive layups before knocked down a pair of free throws and added a basket to cap an 8-0 run to give the Trojans the lead, 44-42.
