South Alabama wide receiver Jamarius Way and Troy teammates Tron Folsom and Tyler Sumpter earned Sun Belt Conference weekly awards announced Monday.
Way was the Offensive Player of the Week after a record-setting performance in a 41-31 victory over Texas State. The senior from Belle Glade, Fla., caught a school-record 11 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown, with receptions of 54 and 63 yards.
Folsom was the Defensive Player of the Week while leading the Trojans to a 24-19 victory at Nebraska. The senior linebacker from Alma, Ga., recorded 14 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a pass breakup.
