COLUMBIA, S.C. – Through one day at the Weems Baskin Invitational on Friday, two Trojans, Cadi Rowe and Alejandra Gutierrez Fuente, stand victorious for Troy at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track.
Gutierrez Fuente became the first Trojan to hoist the gold in the long jump. The sophomore dominated the competition, outleaping 30 competitors, which included teammates Kady Schwietz and Jordan Bailey. On a new personal record, the jumper reached the 5.61m mark to outlast Delaware State's Catherine Glenn at 5.52m. Freshman Schwietz claimed her first top-five finish in her outdoor career, finishing fourth at 5.
