ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Anyone remember that mammoth Troy-Utah State tilt on Oct. 2, 2004?
Donald Penn does, as it was the first time the Oakland Raiders left tackle, playing for Utah State, faced off against DeMarcus Ware, whose Troy Trojans thumped Penn’s Aggies, 49-21, that day.
And Derek Carr, who has only been in the NFL for three seasons but took a memorable hit, or five, from Ware without getting sacked in five games against him, also had a memory, or five of facing Ware.
No wonder, then, that both Raiders players took to Twitter on Monday to wish Ware well on his retirement after 12 seasons in the league, the last three with the Denver Broncos.
