Person hit 4-of-8 3-point attempts en route to 23 points in the Trojans’ 66-57 win over the Texas State Bobcats at Trojan Arena. The win quashed a six-game losing streak the Trojans (6-11 overall, 1-5 Sun Belt Conference) had coming into the game.
John Walton III buoyed Person’s effort with a 14-point, 12-rebound performance. Jeremy Hollimon finished with 13 points, all in the second half.
“That’s a much-needed win. We had to have one,” Trojans head coach Phil Cunningham said. “I thought it was balanced between those three guys. Wesley and Jeremy, we haven’t had a night where they were shooting 3s together, but tonight I thought they were both good off the dribble.
