NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana - Junior Sanae Ohta picked up her first Player of the Week honor for the women's tennis team after a dominating performance on the court for the Trojans last weekend, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The Trojans picked up two big wins against Georgia Southern and No. 48 Tulane on the road, and Ohta clinched both matches for Troy on court one.
She battled in Saturday's win over Georgia Southern's Giulia Reipe taking the match 7-5, 7-5 to clinch the 4-1 victory for the Trojans. On Sunday, Ohta picked up a first set win over Kyla Klier of Tulane, but dropped in the second set.
