TROY — This year’s Troy Trojans have sheepishly stopped short of their forefathers.

For Thursday night’s home game with Arkansas State, the 25th-ranked Trojans won’t go as far as the 2009 team to ensure student-body attendance until the final play.

They will not haul out the aging Brown-Woods proviso, which called for stern punishment for any absences or early departees.

“I’m not going to hit any of our fans,” offensive lineman Tyler Lassiter said. “We have some great fans. I don’t see any of them leaving.”

Seven years ago, then-quarterback Levi Brown prescribed harsh measures for those students abandoning the Trojans during a nationally televised Tuesday game against Middle Tennessee State.
