Obscure, average freshmen football players don’t get nicknames. Justin Whisenhunt, a true freshman linebacker, is anything but obscure – or average.

And while he originally would have preferred “Whiz” to “Whisenhead,” the 6-foot-1, 220-pounder from Birmingham takes both with pride.

“Yeah, I have a big head,” he said with a smile and a shrug.
