Troy, Ala. – Troy track & field senior Niata Alexander has been named Sun Belt Women's Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday evening.
Alexander, native of Douglasville, Ga., earned the honor after posting a personal record and moving into second all-time at Troy in the 400m race with a time of 53.69 seconds, good for second place at the War Eagle Invitational this past weekend.
Alexander's 400m time is more than one second faster than the second-quickest time in the Sun Belt Conference.
