GREENVILLE, S.C. — Their murmurs were barely audible, and their body language screamed disappointment.
The Troy Trojans settled comfortably — at least as comfortably as possible — in their locker room chairs, barely rustling from their dejection.
An 87-65 loss to Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena had barely ended, giving them scant time to process an end to their season.
But some also had the optimistic foreknowledge of a fortune teller.
The Trojans, they said, will be back.
“It’s a great feeling just to be a part of it, and it gets us motivated for next year,” sophomore forward Jordon Varnado said.
