Latest NFL Top 100 best yet for Alabama players, pushing state's total to 25 all-time

Remember when running back Trent Richardson was considered one of the NFL’s top 100 players? Widely viewed as a bust today because he lasted only three seasons after being the third player picked in the 2012 NFL Draft, the former Alabama star placed No. 71 in the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2013 after his rookie season with the Cleveland Browns.

The NFL Network’s Top 100 Players poll has been around for seven years, and players with Alabama football roots had their best showing this year, when 11 from state high schools and colleges landed in the top 100 for 2017 after only four made the list in 2016.
