BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Troy women's tennis team completed their first match of the 2017 season falling to Virginia Tech 5-2. The Trojans resume play in Blacksburg tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT against ETSU.
The Trojans picked up a win in both singles and doubles play. Nancy Karaky defeated Caroline Dexhelet 6-6 after an injury withdrawal in singles. In doubles action, Karaky and Alicia Rodriguez defeated Sansitha Nandakumar and Natalie Novotna 6-2.
"The girls had good match especially winning doubles point today," head coach Rawia Elsisi said. "It was good start for season against strong ACC team like Virginia Tech being top 30 program in country.
