TROY – Riding up on the press box elevator with a group of Troy assistants before the game, one jokingly said to make sure I wrote something positive.
We agreed that would be determined by how the game unfolded during the next couple of hours.
If you were here, watched on national TV or listened to the radio broadcast of South Alabama’s 19-8 win over Troy on Wednesday night, you realize there aren’t a whole lot of positive things to write about concerning the Trojans in this game.
It was sort of a repeat of last season when Troy hit the national stage with its first ever Top 25 ranking, only to be dismantled four days later in its own backyard to Arkansas State (35-3) with the national cameras of ESPNU rolling.
