Jaguars' torrid finish downs Troy men's basketball team

TROY – Troy’s Kevin Baker may have hit the circus shot, but the South Alabama Jaguars’ more consistent shooting proved to be the difference Saturday.

Baker’s 32-footer gave Troy a 66-65 lead, but the Jaguars connected on their last six shots from the field to take a 76-71 victory at Trojan Arena. South Alabama shot 57.7 percent from the field in the second half and closed the game hitting nine of its final 11 shot attempts from the field en route to a season sweep of Troy.

“It’ll take more toughness down the stretch (to beat them),” Trojans forward Jordon Varnado said.
