TROY – Just when it looked like Troy was going to catch and possibly overtake UT Arlington, the Mavericks got hot from 3-point land again.
UT Arlington pushed a one-point lead to 10 in the blink of an eye with less than nine minutes to play and coasted in to a 79-66 win at Trojan Arena on Saturday.
It marked the fifth straight loss for the Trojans (11-17 overall, 4-12 Sun Belt), who are in danger of missing the Sun Belt Tournament in two weeks. The bottom two teams in the league standings will not make the tourney this year.
