Lee County (Ga.) quarterback Kyle Toole, who led the Trojans to their second consecutive state championship last year, committed to Troy University on Saturday morning.
Toole, a 6-2, 200-pounder, last year as a junior completed 204-of-309 passes for 3,072 yards and 33 touchdowns against just two interceptions. He said he picked Troy over Middle Tennessee, South Alabama, Tulane and Central Michigan.
“I’m really happy about it. It’s kind of like a weight lifted off my shoulders,” Toole said in a telephone interview with the Dothan Eagle. “It helps a lot. Now I can just focus on my senior year and trying to get back to another state championship.
