TROY, Ala. – Three Trojans garnered individual honors from the Sun Belt for their performance during the 2021 season, the league office announced Monday. Starting pitcher Garrett Gainous was named Freshman of the Year while Drew Frederic and Logan Cerny were selected to the All-Sun Belt First Team.
This marks the fourth time since Troy joined the league in 2006 that a Trojan has received Freshman of the Year honors and the first since Rigsby Mosley in 2018. Frederic, a mainstay in the Troy infield for the last five seasons, received the third All-Sun Belt postseason honor of his career and his second first team selection.
