HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Connor Futrell fired a school record 7-under 64 to lead Troy to a first place standing following Monday's season-opening round of the Sam Hall Intercollegiate at the Hattiesburg Country Club.
Teams were on the course for the second round when lightning pulled golfers off the course and eventually forced the postponement of the round until Tuesday. The second round is slated to continue at 8 a.m. and teams will go straight to the third and final round afterwards.
Futrell's record round featured eight birdies and just one bogey on the par-71 course.
