TROY, Alabama – Former Trojan and Mets infielder, TJ Rivera, will be suiting up for the Puerto Rican team that will be competing in the upcoming 2017 World Baseball Classic.
Rivera's family is original from Puerto Rico, which allows Rivera to join the squad. The Bronx, N.Y., native debuted with New York last season. He batted .333 with an on base percentage of .345 in just 113 plate appearances. He also contributed with a .476 slugging percentage.
