TROY – He’s still learning a new position, but Troy University sophomore offensive lineman J.L. Gaston isn’t experiencing what he called the “culture shock” of his first training camp.
After the Trojans completed their fourth practice of camp – and second day in full pads – on Wednesday, Gaston recalled where he was a year ago just a couple practices into camp.
“Huge difference. Huge difference,” Gaston repeated. “I played at Monroe Academy, and the AISA guys were not near as quick off the edge as they are now. It didn’t take long to know I had to get bigger and had to get stronger and had to get faster to compete against those guys.
