Fall World Series: Game Two Recap

TROY, Alabama – Corey Childress delivered an impressive start on the mound to spark the Phillips Heads to a 2-1 victory over the Fighting Gierkes to even the series Wednesday night at Riddle-Pace Field.

Childress struck out five and did not walk any in five innings of work, while allowing only one run on one hit.

Will Carnley earned the save after working two scoreless innings – he struck out two batters and gave up one hit.

The lone run by the Gierkes came on a sixth-inning, game-tying home run from Brandon Lockridge, who has homered in both games of the series.
