TROY – Sam Lebbie’s appearance in the starting lineup of last week’s Senior Day victory over Texas State was as unexpected as it was pleasant.
Troy’s middle linebacker has been limited not just in games but in practices for much of the season with a recurring “stinger” injury in his neck, back and shoulder. He has missed two full games – New Mexico State in Week 3 and Coastal Carolina two weeks ago – and did not start against South Alabama.
The fifth-year senior is still third on the team with 47 tackles and tied for second on the team with 8½ tackles for loss.
