Davis, Minter, McDonald spark South Alabama victory over Troy off bench

A number of players who didn't initially factor heavily into the game plan sparked South Alabama's 19-8 victory over Troy on Wednesday night.

Quarterback Dallas Davis came off the bench to lead the Jaguars to 10 second-half points after starter Cole Garvin was pulled due to ineffectiveness. No. 2 running back Tra Minter made the Jaguars' two biggest plays of the night on offense.

Defensive back Khalil McDonald, making his first career starter, totaled five tackles and a safety. He was an emergency replacement at Husky safety after regular starter Malcolm Buggs was unable to go due to a nagging groin injury.
