TROY, Ala. – Troy junior Carles Anton ended his regular season with a flourish as he has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week; the league office announced Tuesday morning.
A native of Valencia, Spain, Anton went undefeated for the week winning two singles matches on court two and two doubles matches on court one. In addition, he clinched Troy's season-finale victory at Coastal Carolina, which locked the Trojans into the No. 4 seed in this week's Sun Belt Tournament.
After making quick work with Yeray Andres Pastor in doubles, Anton won 7-6 (4), 6-1 in singles over Maj Tomac to put the all-important fourth point on the board for the Trojans.
