Auburn offensive analyst Brian Blackmon has been hired for an on-field role at Troy, a source familiar with the situation told AL.com.
Blackmon, 43, spent the last season as an offensive analyst on Gus Malzahn's staff at Auburn, where he worked alongside assistant coach Herb Hand with the offensive line. Hand accepted the offensive line/co-offensive coordinator position at Texas on Tuesday, and Auburn re-hired former assistant J.B. Grimes as the new offensive line coach on Wednesday.
Blackmon will coach tight ends at Troy on coach Neal Brown's staff, according to the source.
