White Hart Lane demolition picks up pace after Tottenham beat Manchester United in final match at their famous old ground

Tottenham have wasted no time in getting to work on the demolition of their famous old ground after their final home game against Manchester United on Sunday.

The 2-1 victory over Jose Mourinho's men was the last game to be played before the club move into the new 61,559-capacity arena next door.

Bulldozers and other heavy machinery were moved into position inside the ground on Monday morning with work really beginning to accelerate on Tuesday.

The construction teams have already been working on the new ground for most of the season and there is no room for sentimentality as the old White Hart Lane is tore down to make way for the rest of it.
