Angry Valencia fans have picked up the baton from Tottenham's supporters as they look to stop the managerial appointment of Gennaro Gattuso.

Supporters are angry at the prospect of appointing Gattuso, who is reportedly a leading candidate to replace Jose Bordalas at Mestalla this summer.

Anger from fans stems from controversial comments made in Gattuso's past which have been interpreted as sexist and homophobic.

Fans are banding together as a reaction to historic comments made by Gattuso, which he has since come out and issued a staunch defence over in the Italian media

In 2008, Gattuso, now 44, found himself in water when he waded into the topic of same-sex marriage, saying that he believes 'marriage is between a man and a woman'.
