Under-19s win group to reach Stemwede semi-finals

Having seen off SV Rödinghausen 2-0 and then drawn 1-1 with Lokomotiv Moscow on Thursday, we beat VfB Stuttgart 3-0 and Werder Bremen 1-0 today (Friday) to top our group with 10 points from a possible 12 in the annual Stemwede competition.

It means we'll face Red Bull Brazil, runners-up to Fulham in the other group, on Saturday (10.30am UK) for a place in the final. Fulham will face Werder Bremen in the other semi.

Jack Roles and Samuel Shashoua have been our destroyers-in-chief so far, scoring six goals between them, while goalkeeper Charlie Freeman, who endured an injury-hit domestic season with our Under-18s, kept clean sheets in his two outings against Rödinghausen and Werder Bremen.
