Barcelona are preparing a January swoop for Tottenham target Max Meyer.
The attacking midfielder is currently locked in contract talks with Schalke as his present deal expires at the end of the season.
The German club are keen for the 22-year-old to agree fresh terms, but he has stalled on talks due to interest from Tottenham.
Spurs were interested in Meyer during the summer and they could return in January but now, according to Sport, they will have to see off competition from Barcelona.
The Spanish club have expressed an interest in the German and they are ready to pounce when the transfer window opens.
